About HRease
The best candidate is usually in the pile.
Screening is where hiring quietly goes wrong. Not because recruiters are careless, but because reading two hundred CVs carefully is not something a person can do in an afternoon — and the afternoon is all anyone gets.
Why we built it
Most hiring teams we spoke to were running the same process: applications arriving by email, CVs downloaded into a folder, names copied into a spreadsheet that someone forgets to update.
The cost of that isn't just wasted hours. It's that the hundredth CV never gets the attention the first one did. Strong people are rejected by fatigue rather than judgement, and nobody finds out.
HRease exists to make the first pass consistent. One link collects every application. Every CV is read against the same criteria, in the same way, whether it arrived first or last. What you open is a ranked list with reasoning attached — so the time you do have goes to the decision, not the sorting.

How we think about it
Automating screening is a responsibility, not a feature.
Software that decides who gets an interview should be held to a higher standard than software that decides what to show you next. These are the rules we hold ourselves to.
Judge on the criteria, nothing else
Scores come from the rubric the employer writes for that specific role. The model is instructed not to infer protected characteristics, and never sees a candidate as anything but their stated experience.
Show the working
A score with no explanation is worse than no score. Every result carries its justification, the experience it extracted, and a link to the original CV so you can disagree with it.
The human still decides
HRease ranks; it does not reject. Every candidate stays visible, every score can be overridden with your own, and the decision to move someone forward is always a person’s.
See it on a role you're actually hiring for.
Post a job, share the link, and watch the ranking build itself as applications come in.
